Casey P. Eitner, President/CEO, has extensive experience
starting and running successful new biotech businesses. Mr. Eitner
served as VP Business Development & New
Businesses at Life Technologies (Invitrogen). He was previously
Executive VP of the Molecular Diagnostics Division, now Digene
(DIGE), which pioneered
DNA-based diagnostic tests for papilloma virus and cervical cancer.
Biotech Venture Management LLC, which Mr. Eitner founded, has been
providing senior management roles to early stage biotech companies
in the
US, Canada
and Europe since 2000. He is also a director of CytoStore, Inc.
a spin-off from the University of Calgary.
David Krizman, Ph.D.,
Chief Scientific Officer, is a scientific co-founder of EPI. Dr.
Krizman has been a pioneer in applications
of novel genomics technologies to tissue while at the National
Human Genome
Research Institute and the National Cancer Institute. During
his time as a Principal Investigator at the NCI he co-founded
and led the Cancer
Genome Anatomy Project. Dr. Krizman has also served as a scientific
contractor and adviser at the Naval Research Laboratory.
Jon Burrows, Vice President of Research and Development has previous management roles at Ventana, Novartis, Chiron and Sugen, Dr. Burrows brings extensive experience in development of clinical tissue assays and a deep understanding of cancer drug pathways.
Marlene Darfler, Vice President Product Development, is one
of the scientific co-founders. Ms. Darfler brings extensive
experience developing research and diagnostic tissue analysis
methods as a former senior research scientist at Invitrogen.
Peter Tunon, Vice President Sales and Marketing, brings over twenty years of expertise in driving new business and marketing programs. Mr. Tunon was previously Business Director at Life Technologies managing the BioSepra division, and Business Manager at Bio-Rad Laboratories where he managed the company’s chromatography consumables program.
Thomas G. Guiel, Vice President Operations, has experience starting up and managing research product and service operations. At Invitrogen, he was responsible for establishing global ordering and distribution, manufacturing operations and partnerships in Japan, New Zealand, Brazil, the U.K. and throughout the U.S.
Linda A. Broenniman, CFO, has a solid background as an executive in operations and financial management, primarily with emerging companies. She is an experienced entrepreneur, who founded and built a medical technology company as President/CEO. She has been CFO of a public company and her experience includes several M & A and capital transactions.
